VR hardware experiences steep initial retail depreciation, making second-hand headsets one of the highest-value gaming hardware upgrades. On Koukan, every transaction is safeguarded by escrow payments and buyer protection, giving you a dedicated window to inspect the lenses, tracking, and controllers before funds are released to the seller.
Inspect listing photos carefully for lens scratches or sun damage to the displays. Confirm both left and right controllers are functional with no thumbstick drift. Check battery health for standalone headsets like Meta Quest, and ensure all cables, facial interfaces, and tracking base stations (for SteamVR headsets) are accounted for.
Standalone headsets like the Meta Quest 3 and Pico 4 operate completely untethered while also supporting wireless PC streaming via Wi-Fi 6E or USB-C link cable. Dedicated PCVR headsets like the Valve Index require a gaming PC but deliver uncompressed display quality, lower latency, and sub-millimeter lighthouse tracking ideal for simulation gaming.
